Before traveling to the Grassland you would probably want to know about it. Grasslands are wide expanses of land filled with low growing plants such as grasses and wildflowers. The grasslands biome can be divided up into the temperate grasslands and tropical grasslands. The amount of rain is not enough to grow tall trees and produce a forest, but it isn't enough to form a desert. The temperate grasslands have seasons, summer and winter. If you don't go to this place at least once in your life time, you would miss a lot of sights. There are so many beautiful and nutrient rich plants that you would probably love to see and take a picture with. Buffalo Grass, Blue Grama Grass, Needle Grass, Big Bluestem Grass, and Switch Grass are the types of grass there. Sunflowers, Sagebrush, Clover, Asters, Goldenrods, Butterfly Weed, and Butterweed are they beautiful plants found there. There are some amazing adaptation that plants have in order to survive. Extensive root systems prevent grazing animals from pulling roots out of the ground in order to eat the plant, which helps it survive. Some prairie trees have thick bark to resist fire, which helps it survive when a natural fire occurs. Prairie grasses have narrow leaves which lose less water than broad leaves, which helps the plant have more water than another plant, so it doesn't have to "fight" for water. Grasses grow from near their base, not from their tip, so they don't become permanently damaged from grazing animals or from fire. There are also animals that are cool to see and observe. Bison, Prairie Dogs, Wolves, Turkeys, Eagles, Weasels, Bobcats, Foxes, Geese, Snakes, Mice, Gazelles, Antelope, Cheetah and Rabbits. Those amazing animals have amazing adaptations which play a key role in helping the animal survive. The Bison's digestive system adapted to digest grass. Gazelles adapted to running quickly in order to escape from predators, so it can survive. Antelopes have eyes slightly to the side of their heads, which is an advantage for a better view. That is a physical adaptation that helps the Antelope watch out for Predators. Cheetahs adaptation is the spots in its fur. The spots serve as camouflage when trying to capture prey. When you are going to a tundra you probably won't wear shorts and a half sleeves shirt, you would wear warm clothes. In the same way you would probably want to wear the appropriate clothing for the weather in Grasslands. The average temperature is -40 to 40 degrees Celsius. You should probably take all sorts of clothes like pants, a jacket, full sleeves shirt, half sleeves shirt, shorts, slippers, and shoes because the weather is pretty cold and very hot. Don't forget to take sunglasses to avoid UV Rays. The annual precipitation is 50 to 80 centimeters, so it would be safe to take your rain coat/jacket. If you were to go to the African Grasslands you should probably stay there for a whole year, so that you don't miss out on different activities during different weather conditions. Some activities you can do there are Fly-fishing, kayaking, photography, horse riding, looking at the Great Migration of the Wild Beast, and the Sardine Run on the Wild Coast. Those are the details of the amazing African Grasslands.
